Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Le Saint Jean, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Bayeux, France, at 60 Rue Saint-Jean. This charming restaurant is more than what meets the eye at first glance. While it may initially resemble a casual fast food spot, stepping inside reveals a warm atmosphere filled with the enticing aroma of freshly baked pizza and the welcoming presence of friendly staff.

Le Saint Jean has garnered rave reviews from visitors, including Marian Cón, who remarked on the "really tasty" pizzas that keep patrons returning for more. It's clear that pizzas are the star of the menu, but they are far more than mere fast-food fare. From the moment you take your seat, you are enveloped in a world where quality meets flavor in delightful harmony.

Greg Kitchen beautifully captured the essence of Le Saint Jean; even he was tempted to indulge after just catching a whiff of the margarita pizza ordered by his daughter. The restaurant staff are not only kind but accommodating, ensuring that even if French isn’t your strong suit, you will feel right at home. Dining here goes beyond just a meal—it’s an experience that makes you feel like a part of the Le Saint Jean family.

For those seeking an extraordinary pizza experience, Luiz Prina's glowing review stands out; he declared Le Saint Jean's pizza the best he has had in Europe, complemented by an inviting and unique ambiance described as 'rockabilly.' The attention to detail in both the food and setting ensures that every visit feels special. The cheese used on the pizzas is even sourced from a local producer right across the street, reflecting the establishment's commitment to quality and local flavors.

Once you attempt a slice of their pizzas or perhaps succumb to the allure of their decadent chocolate ice creams, as noted by Magdalena Szpunt, you will know the true meaning of gastronomic delight. The mention of “amazing cake” further solidifies that Le Saint Jean is a must-visit for dessert lovers too, providing a well-rounded dining experience.

In short, Le Saint Jean is a vibrant culinary destination that promises not just remarkable food but also genuine hospitality. Patrons like Robert can't resist coming back, even from far-flung places like Cincinnati, Ohio. Each visit promises a perfect blend of delectable dishes, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere. So if you find yourself in Bayeux, make it a point to stop at Le Saint Jean—you won’t regret it!

On the first sight it looks like some fast food, but when you have a seat, you find out that waitresses are very kind, but pizza is really tasty which makes you to come again.

Excellent food, wine, coffee and service. I wasn’t planning to eat. However, my daughter ordered a margarita pizza. I couldn’t resist when it arrived at the table. It smelled so good, and tasted great! We speak very little French, and the staff was very accommodating.

Very good pizza. I was not sure about the quality but it was the best I ever tasted in Europe so far. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere 'rockabilly' completes the good experience.

My wife and I ate here twice in the three days we stayed in Bayeux. I can’t say enough about the great service and food. The cheese for the pizza is made across the street. We will definitely make it a point to come back here in the future. I would even take a trip from my home in Cincinnati, Ohio to eat here. Robert

???????? I would happily come back! <3 Very very good pizza, amazing cake And even better chocolate ice creams!!! Very nice and efficient service. Highly réccomande!

This is a busy little place on the main walking street in town. It was packed but we managed to get seated right away, and despite the few staff and many tables, beer and food came quickly, and was hearty and delicious. We had a pizza and a baked macaroni and chicken. All very good, waiter spoke English and was very pleasant. He asked where we were from, and knew the SF Forty-niners football team.

One of the most memorable pizzas I've had, rather unexpectedly. If you're hanging in this town, go here. 6 of us all tried different pizzas - all were equally amazing. Vincent was a fantastic server.
